The Civil Rights movement was just about to peak in the early 60s. There was war abroad, but on the home front, African Americans were t sameg a strong spatial relation to gain their rights (Faragher, 905). Political activists led the way, and white Americans took nonice. Neither have it away was willing to back down. To the credit of whole who sacrificed their lives for the movement, society progressed and laws akin the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were produced. Medgar Evers, one who gave his humankindners for the advancement of African Americans, was fin everyy honored 30 years later on his close with the conviction of his killer. Medgar Evers was 37 at the time of his death. Field coach for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People sys, he was shot in the back as he walked from his railway car to his house on June 12, 1963. His wife and young children found him imposition in a pool of blood (Hardwell). Even with a fingerprinted deer rifle, tw o all-white juries were unable to find Evers killer, Byron De La Beckwith, guilty. It was 25 years later when Jackson Mississippi government revealed that the control panel had been tampered with by the Sovereignty Commission. Opinions varied as to what actions should be taken. much or less wanted to let the past go, ignoring all the wrongdoings. Others pressed for rightness.
